Short on Music

Music Music, it’s the only immortal companion Family will leave you Friends will walk away Accomplishments will fade All that is left is music It’s the most real and true love you can find ~Lykaios

Connection

Connection I like listening to the ocean The crashing waves And the constant roar behind them It almost makes my feet vibrate next to the sand My heart begins to become insync With the call of the water Speeding up Slowing down Like when we breathe And when we dance We imitate the sea Slow, melodic, smooth Fast, corrupting, strong No matter how far you travel No matter what you love There will always be a part of you A part of the sea… ~Lykaios

My Killer

My Killer I listen to the roar at my feet The gut wrenching power beneath me Ever in constant motion, nothing is still How can something so reckless, so unconceivable Unreliable and untamed Be so be peaceful to the human race? The water tears itself from the sand Luring me deeper into the frothy turmoil Its lust hungry tendrils dragging its captives into the salty foam I don’t trust it, the pressure of the water, the sweet air in my lungs The innocent whipping waves disguising cleverly underneath Playful in their nature, dangerous in their desire Stepping forward, my feet sinking into the drenched sand Giving up a part of me closer to the recklessness I watch as a gathering wave is born Trembling from the cold water basking me from the waist down Catching my breath at the toxic beauty of it The sun glitters off the water Contrasting darkness and light perfectly The water wins me over as I stumble forwards It’s icy hug yanking me deeper into the bubbling disarray It holds me steady for ...

October Bells

October Bells A sharp ring in a valley of cold The chill echos through deaf hills The deep blue, the gleaming white No one hears and no one cares Snow softly settling Harsh against their skin The bright blood seeping through The wind rustles the chapel bells The October song is played Singing for the fallen For the disarray The souls escape, bodies decay And everyone knows the story Blood soaked land, a horrid place No feet, no steps to spin the space Still the sweet sounding bells increase Hopeful that the sun will rise But when it did it wasn’t joy It was the fire burning fast The snow had started melting A season so very near Everything was changing still But hardly old enough to end The fire struck, bearing fast Creeping closer to the chapel halls The bodies burning in bright blaze Fire eating up its way The wood started buckling, the cross started sweating Under the heat, under pressure of surviving Slowly the tower crumbles And all that is left is gravity The bells crash on the g...

Dictator

Dictator You always thought you did good But in the end you still stood All alone and by yourself No one really wanting to help You’re the monster of today The one everybody gets to blame And still you hold no regrets Repeating lines to hold on tight “For the good of the people” Fuck that It was always for the good of you Using the power knowingly Twisting it inside your hands You ignore the cries of your people The screams, the shouts, the songs sung The shots ring out for you to stifle up the pain You blind your eyes to the streets To the starving, the grieving, the abused The tired, the bleeding the unexcused You’ve sewn your mouth shut Allowing the lies of your mind Infiltrate our lives You made us, you break us And now you finally leave us? Putting down the hopeful Putting down the young Every hateful thing turning routine I don’t know why I stand by Watching as your legacy unfolds Power hungry and slowly winning I hope our hate crawls up your veins Kissing you goodbye to hell ~Ly...
