Bubbles

Bubbles are light Bubbles are delicate They float in the air Shine in different colors Bubbles pop Splattering on concrete Bubbles are fun Between fingers But I'm drowning Bubbles close in my chest My throat tightens I feel them clogging the air Vision turns red, then blue Black and gray Bubbles are crawling Suffocating Bubbles represent Hopes, Dreams Expectations, Surreality Wishes, Hearts I cough I struggle Pop the bubbles Splatters in my throat I work to breathe Again, deal with it the disappointment The burning Breathe deep Calm down Chest rises, falls Relaxation Look over my arm Down to my fingers Tightly closed around it A small device Check the phone “No new messages” Oh look More bubbles -Ella
